The Darwin Casino has an interesting history as it started off in a
small hotel as The Don Hotel Casino (1979 - 1981), these chips have Darwin
on them. It then moved to a purpose built casino and was renamed Mindil
Beach (1981-1984), a few years later it became Diamond Beach
(1984-1995), about 3 years ago it became M.G.M. Grand Darwin (1995-2004), and then it was bought out by a New Zealand company and renamed Sky City, Darwin (2004-2008), the name was then modified to reflect the new corporate logo, SKYCITY Darwin (2008 - Open).
